Although a little late for the beginning of the month, I’d like to share a spread to help you set goals and intentions for the month ahead of us.

January is an excellent month to focus on new beginnings, fresh starts, and manifestation. In fact, New Beginnings is the theme for this month on the blog. Why not have a look at some of the other posts in this theme?

With a simple spread of four cards, you can use your favourite tarot deck to explore focal points and lessons for the coming month.

Month Ahead Four-Card Tarot Spread. 1.	What themes can I expect this month?
2.	What energies and qualities should I embrace this month?
3.	What attitudes and energies should I bring with me this month?
4.	What mindsets or behaviours should I leave behind?

1. What themes can I expect this month?

Think about what the card represents holistically, what events it may represent, or advice it may be giving.

2. What energies and qualities should I embrace this month?

Consider the qualities of the card and what it represents. How can you embody the qualities of this card in your everyday life? How might you find aligned energies and qualities in other people or projects?

3. What attitudes and energies should I bring with me this month?

Again, consider what this card represents and how they align with your qualities. Do they relate to lessons from previous months? How can you carry this energy forward?

4. What mindsets or behaviours should I leave behind?

What does the card tell you about behaviours? Think about how they may no longer be serving you; consider what the card is telling you to let go of to flourish this month.

As always, I’d like to highlight that I think tarot is best used as a tool for reflection rather than a tool for forecasting; you should consider how these lessons apply to the context of your own life and how you can apply their advice appropriately.

If you need some more guidance on how to interpret your cards and engage with the questions, I’d invite you to explore this post with an in-depth exploration on using tarot for reflection.

If you’re looking for structured writing prompts to support your self-discovery, I have several reflective eBooks available via Ko-Fi and Etsy for digital download 🙂

I also have tarot cheat sheets available to support your work with tarot cards!

If you’re not quite ready to take the plunge in doing readings for yourself, you may want to consider receiving an intuitive reading from me. I now offer digital readings via Ko-Fi and Etsy which are fully customisable to your needs and questions, or you can use one of the spreads from my blog as inspiration.

What are the cards pointing to for you this January? Share your reflections in the comments, or drop a link to your own reflective blogs!
