As we move through the month of awakening, I wanted to spend some time exploring symbolic ingredients for awakening.
Although I recently discussed moving more towards a ‘spiritual’ branding over ‘witchcraft’, I think the symbolism in what we do can still resonate. Whether that’s the symbolism of the changing season, of different trees, of animal visitors during moments we need them, or just the colours we feel drawn to, I think that symbols are powerful tools for spiritual connection and wellness.

Perhaps symbolism is something I need to explore in more detail – it would make sense with my background as an English teacher! If you’re interested, I did explore some symbols of the festive season back in December, which somewhat illustrates the point I’m making.
Without further ado, let’s have a look at ten ingredients that can symbolise awakening no matter how we use them!
Please note: Not all of these ingredients are edible and some can have negative effects if ingested! Please thoroughly research the safety of any ingredient you use in any ritual work and how the different ingredients may interact with one another.
