It’s the month of awakening on the blog, inspired by the onset of spring and the Spring Equinox!

If you’re an avid reader, you may have noticed that I didn’t post last Friday. I had debated doing a long post about the meaning of the Spring Equinox, but instead I was out enjoying some time in nature to observe the equinox at my local stone circle.

Today, I wanted to share some reflections about my time in the stone circle and what celebrating the Spring Equinox has meant for me this year. I may go back and do a slightly longer post at another time and just backdate it, but for now, I wanted to consider my own reflections.

The Symbolism of the Spring Equinox

The Spring Equinox can also be regarded as the new year – it’s the beginning of then new cycles of growth. As a human who likes to take cues from nature in how I live my life, it’s been a period of setting intentions and considering the direction I want my life to take.

I’ve been engaging with things in new ways recently – seeking new directions for the projects I’ve been doing. I’ve been reflecting on what hasn’t worked and re-routing my energy into different things. It’s something I’ve talked about quite a lot on the more personal blog posts this month – and generally.

I do think there’s something inherently motivating about this time of year: the sun, the blossoms, the insect activity. I’m definitely pulling myself out of a state of dormancy after a difficult winter.

Whether you’re magically-inclined or not, I still thing there are massive benefits towards paying attention to the symbolism of the seasons and using them to guide you in how you live your life.

And, boy, is life looking hopeful at the moment.

I think I still have a bit more planning to do, and a lot more work to put into place before things really start taking shape. But the hope is there, the action is there, and the drive is back.

My soul feels a lot more nourished than it has in a long time. I think it’s because I’m finally allowing myself to experience life and living my life more authentically to what makes me happy. Perhaps I need to be more realistic and grounded sometimes, but I do genuinely feel hopeful that I have something to offer the world that aligns with my values and leaves me feeling satisfied with life.

There’s something about these mornings and sunny days that makes it feel truly possible, rather than just a series of pipe dreams that may never actually get off the ground.

I trialled one of my creative workshops as part of the equinox celebrations; I’ll be writing more about that on the creativity post for this week. But it was a really beautiful experience and I enjoyed knowing that I was helping people.

I’d love to hear how you celebrated the Spring Equinox! Are you using it as a period of personal growth, or springing into action?

Related to this theme, I do also have my ‘Awakening’ workbook, inspired by the theme of this month and the equinox. You can check out some sample prompts in a previous post or get yourself a digital copy either on Etsy or Ko-Fi.
