Oh, how I love this question! I wish I were at home right now to be able to take plenty of pictures. I actually wrote a post exploring how to create a cosy home many moons ago, so I love this topic.
I very much have the home of a disorganised artist and crafter. There are somewhat organised boxes of craft materials, but I’m also surrounded by items in various states of completion. I love vintage looks and collect little trinkets from nature to adorn the walls and shelves in my home. I love pine cones, rocks, leaves and animal bones. I hang bouquets upside down to dry, along with bunches of herbs from my garden. I have house plants in every nook and cranny!
I think my home decor choices very much give goblin vibes, maybe witch of the woods. Perhaps an element of farmhouse?

Most of my furniture is thrifted, too. A lot of it came from donations from family members – sofas, chairs and units they no longer wanted. Nothing in my house matches, really. And I absolutely love it. I have so many plates from my grandmother’s house, and I actually found the exact same ones in the Folk Museum I went to a few months ago when visiting home. I think it works, though, as a lot of it is warm colours and woods. I have brass ornaments taken from my grandfather’s house before he passed away, some of which have been in our family for almost one hundred years. I have paintings from long-passed ancestors alongside my own art pieces and vintage medical prints. I love the sentimentality of it all.
I think I choose to incorporate so much nature into my home so that I always feel connected to it. Even when the weather is prohibitively awful, or on days I’m lacking energy, I can spend my time wrapped in blankets and warm, but still around the energy of the forest or my favourite beaches. Despsite the distance from my family, I can still feel connected to them with the objects I’ve adorned my home with.
I’m so excited to look through posts on this topic and see how everyone else chooses to decorate their home, especially how they choose to incorporate natural elements.
